ViVAS Wine - Category Development Manager
£28,000 - £35,000
plus benefits and bonus

ViVAS Wine Company is a joint venture which takes the wine expertise and ranging  from Bibendum Wine Limited; and links it with the food expertise, scale, and distribution excellence of 3663 First for Foodservice. This combination presents a truly unique proposition across the length and breadth of the UK on trade. Food and Wine expertise delivered nationally, together.

As a result of its continuing success ViVAS is growing its team of Category Development Managers and are presently searching for 4 unique individuals to work closely with the 3663 team to drive sales of ViVAS wine to customers in the following geographical regions;

  • East Midlands - Nottinghamshire and surrounding area

  • Edinburgh

  • Salisbury and South West

We will also consider strong applicants from other areas.

With principal responsibility for developing and delivering new business opportunities, these roles require results oriented, self starters with an entrepreneurial flair. People who know their way around the independent on trade in their region; and at the same time can manage and develop strong working relationships.

You will work closely with the 3663 sales team and be responsible for driving sales of our exclusive wine portfolio through existing customers, as well as hunting for new business.

About you;

The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate the following key skills;

  • Great wine knowledge and enthusiasm ;

  • Good food and wine matching skills and experience in creating wine lists;

  • The ability to nurture relationships at all levels;

  • Be confident hosting formal and informal tastings;

  • Logical, organised and self motivated approach, as well as an eye for detail;

  • Demonstrable understanding of costing calculations and budgets;

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently yet within company procedures.

Business Development Manager - (On trade focus)

£28 - £35k exceptional bonus (>£2k / month)

Location: Edinburgh

A unique and exciting opportunity for a dynamic Business Development Manager to carve a niche for themselves in one of our growth territories.

We are searching for someone with a good knowledge of the best regional restaurants, hotels, spas, theatres and gastro pubs. You will be a real foodie and love the idea of eulogising about the best your region has to offer.

Responsibilities  

  • Develop outstanding sales relationships by prospecting high-quality entertainment & lifestyle local businesses.
  • Negotiate and close new business opportunities.
  • Work with the wider team to develop and grow specific opportunities.
  • Track ongoing sales activities and forecast new business.
  • Establish and maintain long-term client business relationships, including site visits.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of service and delivery.

Candidate profile

  • Degree educated (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of the destination places in your region and have an ear to the ground for the next best thing!
  • Experience in dealing with the on trade.
  • You have a "good nose" for what is an outstanding deal
  • Passion for cold-calling and hunting, and developing and closing sales
  • Ability to manage an extensive database of contacts and prioritise your time so you generate exceptional results.
  • Excellent networker with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to achieve results while working independently
  • Hands-on approach, team player and goal-oriented coupled with an ability to adjust to changing circumstances
  • Amongst your friends you're the one who always finds the best places to go, you're know as the organiser!

  • Competitive salary and exceptional commission scheme, you will earn in direct proportion to your success, expect at least £2,000 per month in commission.
